What is Marjal?, Marjalization power!!

The Marsh (El Marjal in Valencian) is a wetland area, usually near the sea, rich in both fauna and flora. These wetlands are often way stations on the migration of birds from northern Europe, Switzerland and Africa, is the marjalization power.

The low, swampy ground covered with vegetation is almost full and its origin may be different (fluvial supply, underground, tides ...)

The marshes, and plains near the sea, have experienced development pressure, especially in Valencia, with the environmental hazard that his disappearance would.

Among them one of the most noteworthy is the Pego-Oliva marsh that lies between these two peoples. It is rich in both flora and fauna, really marjalization.

"The marsh of the Lagoon" located in the surroundings of the Albufera of Valencia and part of its Natural Park is one of the largest in the Iberian Peninsula. It is almost entirely devoted to rice and subject also to the pressure of the transformation of the rice garden crops to make them more profitable, just as was formerly Albufera itself pressed by the grounding of its periphery to rice cultivation.
